April 11: fog sunset
When I was returning to Katajanokka after the excursion, fog suddenly started to roll through at a gallop.
Here it is from the kitchen window.
Now pretty much overcast; view from the hallway through the kitchen. Note the pigeon weathervane between the crystals.
Close to sunset, it was still rolling through, but it wasn't enveloping.
I went out to the shore because I figured the sunset might be photogenic. Here in the square, late sunlight.
The fog bank in the distance, looking east from the road toward Merisotilaantori.
I caught the sun just in time.
The edge of the earth.
Hanasaari with the fog welled up toward the right.
Barely visible, a small island to the east.
A Tanguyan unworld past the shore.
The Kallio church in the distance.
Hanasaari, plus Korkeasaari on the right.
Hanasaari, portrait/fog-takeover edition.
Calm water.
Korkeasaari from a dock at the shore.
A thickened blanket of fog.
A set of blinking lights off in the industrial distance.
From the walk back to the apartment.
