March 27: Bugøynes morning
Our full day in Bugøynes was just packed.
In the morning, beautiful and clear once again, a view out the window toward the school.
We explored the village. Here, across toward the church.
Snow druids. ?
This graveyard seems almost more windswept than the one on Utö.
A small view out to the sea. That the beach was unsnowed would prove advantageous for sauna purposes.
Back toward the church.
The water stayed very calm.
"Get off my lawn!"
Bugøynes is mostly built on an isthmus between the mainland and a large rocky outcropping, though it extends out a ways on both sides. This is from the outcropping side (where our house was) toward the mainland, showing the riprapped east edge of the isthmus.
Jetties enclosing the harbor.
Fish racks.
Old footprints, the compressed snow under them lasting longer than the surrounding snow.
Dock next to the king crab research facility, which will be revisited later.
