April 24: Southern Finland tour – Turun Linna 2
More exploration inside Turun Linna.
Windowsun.
A pretty complex niche.
Blue-ribbon windowseat.
A 3-torus of rooms.
Shelf: utilitarian in detail, but perfectly consonant with the masonry walls.
A rather dramatic throne within a display room.
Totally sweet Bryggman-designed (I assume) vault in (I think) the attic of the keep.
The combination of the original medieval construction with Bryggman's well-integrated elegant, lighter insertions is almost too great for my critical-regional brain to handle.
Oh look a bunch more niches.
The coatroom area beyond the lobby.
A skyway between the two sides of the keep.
And below.
Courtyard sky.
Kind of a fisheye thing happening in this shot.
Wallsun.
More wallsun.
Back out in the front courtyard.
The front of the bailey.
Courtyard sun.
From the inside of the porch at the front of the keep; stairs descend to the courtyard on both sides of the porch, but not in front.
Kourtyard komposition.
