February 14: Utö – last full day
A soft sky day.
Mostly cloudy to start.
Painterly pastels.
The tiniest building on Utö.
Again I went back to Kattrumpan; this is the village and lighthouse from the east.
Onshore view from the end of the jetty.
Snow striations.
Animal tunnels.
This is inside the public outhouse at the east end of the village, which came in handy a couple of times.
Over the entrance to a large old bunker east of the village, near the church.
Another design-build project we took on was to design steps down into and seating for this chamber within the bunker, which is used as a small art gallery space for a local photographer.
It's really very small, but the ceiling is high because the floor drops down significantly from the level of the entrance.
The main dock from the stairs up to the lighthouse.
I went out to the lighthouse hill and wrote in my nature journal, and all the while these dogs were chasing rodents all around me.
Looking out to the southern tip of the island; you can see the orthogonal pavilion out there, just a small square protrusion.
Whoa how did they even do that
Icefork? Pitchficle? Tricicle.
The plain out by the cemetery.
Docks again.
There was a classroom in the basement of the hotel where we had a seminar and movie screenings; this is looking down the corridor outside the classroom. Mildly creepy.
Also mildly creepy: this unoccupied room next to the classroom.
