April 19: Katajanokka Jugend 2
The rest of the Jugend tour.
The sun was fading, though slowly.
In places it was still quite present.
An interesting conjunction of buildings.
An interesting little street graffito.
Looking up Vyökatu toward the disembodied dome of the Kasino.
Olofsborg, also by Gesellius-Lindgren-Saarinen.
More Olofsborg.
A rare view to a bit of the interior.
A well-composed fortress entry.
BORG
This building, already seen, is one that I wish I could remember the background on.
Across from it is Louhi, named, curiously, after a witch who is one of the important antagonists in the Kalevala.
The pink hue of Louhi was reflected on the one building.
Another well-composed entry.
Back to Aeolus, here the Kruunuvuorenkatu side.
Last sun down Kruunuvuorenkatu.
The green of Aeolus has turned beige in the orange sun.
OOWWLLSS
A somewhat classical- or baroque-looking detail yet still idiosyncratic enough to be Jugend.
A multifaith cascade of spires.
Yet another... Well-Composed Entry !!
Golden-hour seagull!
The long view down Kruunuvuorenkatu back toward Uspenski.
The stoutly-built swimming hall (I think that's what it is) on the height of land along the tram route.
Last sun in Merisotilaantori.
