May 4: Viikki housing
A large part of Viikki is an eco-housing community comprising sustainably built/operated housing, which we took a stroll through.
Swale pond. By the vignetting of these photos, I infer that this was during my post-camera-lens-mechanism-damage, pre-knowing-exactly-how-to-get-around-it phase.
A varied material ensemble.
"Ultramodern Flowerboxes" would be a good name for a synthpop band.
Two ducks, do you see them?
The long way out to the Barn.
We were inextricably compelled toward the Dome.
A big workshop building, maybe available for any resident to use, I forget the exact arrangement.
Early spring garden beds.
Buds budding, a welcome sight.
Slats + a binocular peephole.
Sitting lightly on the land.
Tri-bridge across the stream, just like the one in Stockholm.
Another bridge, this one designed by Juhani Pallasmaa.
All kinds of arcs.
Nice porchness.
There are lots of pedestrian paths throughout the area, which is quite pleasant.
PV party.
