May 20: Utö – shore walk
This being a full work day, most of the pictures I took were after hours, of a walk I took along the shore by the Havshotel.
But of course I took the usual shot first thing in the morning, where comically a big mound of earth had sprung up in front of the workshop.
Suddenly, a few feet away, sunset!
A multitude of islands just visible over to the southwest.
This streak of calm water extended from near shore over to the island of Ormskär to the north, and it persisted throughout the time I was exploring. I couldn't figure out what caused it.
A chalky sunset over an inky sea.
A few crepuscular rays low over Finnskär island.
Algae and a pipe.
This little bridge bore an uncanny resemblance to the seats of the benches we had been making.
Brave violets in a tenuous spot.
A miscellany of pipes.
Not sure what this is (it seems tantalizingly familiar), but it was blooming and leafing out nicely.
The hostel/sauna courtyard from the northwest.
Cross-threaded cirrus.
A few bits of remaining glow in the deepening twilight.
